    Hi, Anne Marie--

Just trying to start a co-ed team for either recreational or competitive play-- Check out the "team" and let me know if you might be interested.

    Hi Lisa,
I would love to join but I was just wondering where would the practices and games be held?

    Hi, Anne Marie--

Since I'm just starting to pull this together, nothing is locked in yet, but I've had free access before to both a gym (non-regulation size) in Rockville, MD off or I-270 and Shady Grove Rd as well as use of the gym at Montgomery College in Rockvile (but I should also be able to get the gym at the Germantown campus depending on what most of the team wants. I had posted that we'd practice and play on weekends, but that may vary depending on which gym(s) we end up using. What area are you coming from? Once I have a few people who are interested, I'll start calling for gym time/space.

Hope this helps-- there are a few people inquiring, so if these locations would work for you let me know.

    Thanks for the inquiry!

We need females 40 and over plus partially disabled players that can play at the pro level.

    Hi, Dahbu--

Can you tell me why you'd be looking for "females 40 and over plus partially disabled players that can play at the pro level?" There is a very good NWBA team in Baltimore-- the Ravens... would you like me to put you in touch w/their coach? Both males and females play wheelchair ball up to the national and international level, which I used to do. Now I'm only playing stand-up, able-bodied ball, although w/leg braces so I don't lose my ACL again (from too many sports injuries in martial arts).

Let me know how I can help you out or if you'd be interested in joining the team I'm forming-- if someone is "disabled" but can play regular ball (not wheelchair, such as amputees, for example) they're more than welcome. I expect this team will play recreationally until together enough to maybe compete locally or at the junior college level, where the practices/games will likely be.

    Hope this helps--

Hello. My name is D. Dahbu and I have been developing the NJBA for the past ten years. This league was created for those of us that have supported ALL professional sports from the beginning of human life. IT IS NOW ---- OUR TURN TO PLAY. We are calling for ALL people 40 years of age and over to get out to the driveways, parks, recreation areas, gyms, boys and girls clubs and the likes, and strart practiceing you ball handleing, shooting and passing skills now.

In our league, the oldest players will earn the highest salaries because they've been playing the longest. Even if you don't make one of our teams the first time around, you may still be able to play in a pro- basketball game, in front of possibly 18,000 fans and your family, and on TV. Yes, that's right. Let's take this time to show you some of the unique features of you game.

    NO JUMP BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION features.
All franchises = two/15 member, male and female teams. Minimum player age = 40yrs. All teams MUST HAVE TWO PARTIALLY DISABLED PLAYERS THAT CAN PLAY AT THE PROFESSIONAL LEVEL. All games will be Double headers. There will be 4 and 5 point shots and a possible 9 point play. There will be RESTEAL and NO DRIBBLE points. There will be different MODE of basketball being played each quarter. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HISTORY, TWO RANDOMLY DRAWN FANS. WILL COME OUT OF THE STANDS, GET DRESSED IN TEAM UNIFORM AND PLAY ONE QUARTER OF PRO-BASKETBALL. Yes, that's right. You've been saying-- what you would do for years, NOW IT'S TIME TO DO THIS. smile Remember, these are only a few of the incrediable rules in the NJBA.

Hi, Dahbu-- Your league sounds interesting--- I've played at the national level with the NWBA and coached both a community bball clinic as well as played men's DIII and played/co-managed a women's team for a few years. Although I played NWBA ball for a number of years in addition to the coaching, what I'm trying to put together might be very in line with what you are attempting, too, with the NJBA. Do you think there's a way to combine efforts or is there any more info about the NJBA other than what I see online about your idea? Thanks-- Lisa
